Israeli strikes on Rafah safe zone kill at least 35, Gaza officials say

At least 35 people were killed and dozens were injured in an Israeli strike on a makeshift tent camp in a part of the southern Gazan city of Rafah that Israel’s military had designated a “humanitarian zone” for displaced Palestinians, according to Gazan officials.

Israel’s military confirmed it carried out an airstrike in northwest Rafah on Sunday night, based on “precise intelligence,” it said. The strike killed two senior Hamas officials, including Yassin Rabia, the commander of the group’s operations in the West Bank, it said.
