Muhammad Nabi to retire from ODIs after Champions Trophy 2025 – SUCH TV

Afghanistan’s veteran all-rounder, Mohammad Nabi decided to end his One Day International (ODI) career after the 2025 Champions Trophy, as confirmed by Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) Chief Executive, Nasib Khan.

Nasib Khan disclosed that Nabi had already expressed his intentions to the board during discussions held several months prior. “We welcome his decision, and I believe Nabi will continue his career in T20 cricket,” Khan remarked, suggesting that while the 50-over journey will end, Nabi’s presence in T20 cricket will continue.

Since making his international debut for Afghanistan in 2009, Nabi has stood as a key member of the team but has also held the captain’s role, guiding Afghanistan through some of its most transformative cricketing years.

Known for his strategic mindset and adaptability as an all-rounder, Nabi has been instrumental in shaping the Afghan squad’s position on the world stage. Notably, he retired from Test cricket back in 2019, choosing to direct his focus toward limited-overs formats where his skill set continues to shine.
