Police baton-charge protesting teachers outside Karachi Press Club

The teachers protesting outside the Karachi Press Club (KPC) were baton-charged by the police when they attempted to march to the Sindh Assembly.

The teachers had been protesting and holding a sit-in for several days, seeking permanent employment. The Federal Education Department in Sindh appointed them.

Earlier, the department had assured the teachers that all of them would be given permanent positions. However, the department failed to fulfill this commitment.
