BEML delivers key alloy structures to Isro for LVM-3 rocket – Times of India

BENGALURU: PSU BEML Thursday said it has successfully delivered light alloy structures for Isro’s launch vehicle LVM-3 programme. The structures were officially handed over to Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC), the space agency’s rocket building centre.
“This delivery marks the latest achievement in the ongoing partnership between BEML and Isro. BEML’s Aerospace division has consistently demonstrated its expertise in manufacturing and delivering high-quality light alloy structures for various space projects, including the retro motor casings for the PSLV launch vehicle in 2018 and the strap-on base shroud structure for LVM-3 in 2023,” the PSU said.
To support these critical projects, BEML has established a state-of-the-art aerospace hangar at its Bengaluru Complex, equipped with advanced jigs, fixtures, and metrology instruments necessary for the fabrication of light alloy structures.
The company has also developed specialised technical skill sets, enabling the precision machining of rings, iso-grid panels, and the surface treatment of larger components.
BEML CMD Shantanu Roy, said: “This is a proud moment for BEML as we officially hand over these crucial structures to the VSSC team. There has been seamless support and guidance provided by VSSC, which has been instrumental in our successful accomplishment. I’m confident that BEML will continue to meet Isro’s expectations by delivering all seven types of structures as per their schedule.”
